Spoiler alert. American gymnast Gabby Douglas won the gold
medal in the all-around competition today at the London Olympic Games, marking
the third straight Olympics that an American gymnast won the all-around title.
Douglas, who won a gold medal with her teammates in the team competition two
nights ago, follows in the footsteps of American champions Nastia Lukin in 2008
and Carly Patterson in 2004. It
appears that China and the United States will again compete for the most medals
won by a single country, as they did four years ago, with China holding a slim
lead over the U.S. at the beginning of today.
